A top price for J. Lecourt - as previously expected
In July 2019 Sothebys in London held the auction The Pohl-Ströher Collection of Portrait Miniatures Part II, which included the work Portrait Of A Lady, Traditionally Identified As Caroline Murat, Née Bonaparte (1782-1839) by J. Lecourt. The price achieved of GBP 4,000.00 (€ 4,391.73) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Portrait Of A Lady, Traditionally Identified As Caroline Murat, Née Bonaparte (1782-1839) is the most expensive artwork by J. Lecourt that we have observed at auctions so far.
