Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Australian wild Horses Running by Jan Hendrik Scheltema was sold in the Important Australian Art auction at Sothebys in Melbourne in August 2008. The price achieved of AUD 6,600.00 (€ 3,852.74) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jan Hendrik Scheltema - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Hunter'S Reward, which sold at auction in May 2004 for AUD 23,900.00 (€ 13,964.00).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Australian wild Horses Running von Jan Hendrik Scheltema wurde im August 2008 in der Auktion Important Australian Art bei Sothebys in Melbourne versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 6.600,00 (€ 3.852,74) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Jan Hendrik Scheltema mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Hunter'S Reward beobachtet, die im Mai 2004 für AUD 23.900,00 (€ 13.964,00) versteigert wurde.
