Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by J. B. Murry was sold in the 20TH CENTURY SELF-TAUGHT AND OUTSIDER ART auction at Christies in New York in January 2003. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 2,151.00 (€ 2,002.98) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by J. B. Murry have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in January 2019 the work Untitled, circa 1980 was auctioned for USD 2,750.00 (€ 2,400.91).

Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 2.151,00 (€ 2.002,98) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
