Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work 'Tanja De Jaeger Wears Christian Dior', 2002 by Izima Kaoru was auctioned at Sothebys in London in May 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 9,375.00 (€ 13,034.95). Other works by Izima Kaoru have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in May 2012 by the work Tominaga Ai Wears Prada, #401, 2004 at GBP 16,250.00 (€ 20,246.79).
