A top price for Ishikawa Toyonobu - as previously expected
The work Unknown by Ishikawa Toyonobu was sold in the A PRIVATE COLLECTION OF JAPANESE PRINTS AND PAINTINGS auction at Christies in New York in September 2002. The price achieved of USD 119,500.00 (€ 120,963.66) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Unknown is the most expensive artwork by Ishikawa Toyonobu that we have observed at auctions so far.
