Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Unknown by Ishikawa Toyonobu was sold in the Japanese Art and Design auction at Christies in London in May 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 625.00 (€ 795.03) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ishikawa Toyonobu achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Unknown in September 2002 with an auction result of USD 119,500.00 (€ 120,963.66).
