Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Águila by Isabel de Obaldía was sold in the Latin American Art Online auction at Christies in New York in August 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 6,250.00 (€ 5,236.26) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Isabel de Obaldía - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ojos arenados, which sold at auction in May 2011 for USD 17,500.00 (€ 12,173.07).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Águila von Isabel de Obaldía wurde im August 2020 in der Auktion Latin American Art Online bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 6.250,00 (€ 5.236,26) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Isabel de Obaldía mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Ojos arenados beobachtet, die im Mai 2011 für USD 17.500,00 (€ 12.173,07) versteigert wurde.
