Auction result well in line with expectations
In October last year Bonhams in London held the auction Modern & Contemporary African Art, which included the work Siesta by Irma Stern. The price achieved of GBP 113,700.00 (€ 132,459.24) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Irma Stern achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Lelemana Dance in October 2021 with an auction result of GBP 1,222,750.00 (€ 1,448,628.51).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Modern & Contemporary African Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Siesta von Irma Stern zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 113.700,00 (€ 132.459,24) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 100.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Irma Stern erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Lelemana Dance im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.222.750,00 (€ 1.448.628,51).
