Auction result well in line with expectations
The work 'Palm Trees', Zanzibar Within Artist'S Original Zanzibar Frame. by Irma Stern was sold in the Modern & Contemporary African Art auction at Bonhams in March this year. The price achieved of GBP 290,100.00 (€ 330,044.78) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 250,000.00 – 350,000.00. Admittedly, works by Irma Stern have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Lelemana Dance in October 2021 with an auction result of GBP 1,222,750.00 (€ 1,448,628.51).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit 'Palm Trees', Zanzibar Within Artist'S Original Zanzibar Frame. von Irma Stern wurde im März diesen Jahres in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary African Art bei Bonhams versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 290.100,00 (€ 330.044,78) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 250.000,00 – 350.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Irma Stern auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Lelemana Dance im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.222.750,00 (€ 1.448.628,51).
