Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Magnolias by Irma Stern was auctioned at Bonhams in London in October last year. The price achieved of GBP 504,300.00 (€ 587,503.92) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 400,000.00 – 600,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Irma Stern - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Lelemana Dance, which sold at auction in October 2021 for GBP 1,222,750.00 (€ 1,448,628.51).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Magnolias von Irma Stern kam im Oktober letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 504.300,00 (€ 587.503,92) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 400.000,00 – 600.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Irma Stern mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Lelemana Dance beobachtet, die im Oktober 2021 für GBP 1.222.750,00 (€ 1.448.628,51) versteigert wurde.
