Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Harvesters by Irma Stern was sold in the Modern & Contemporary African Art auction at Bonhams in London in October 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 5,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 5,737.50 (€ 6,797.39) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Irma Stern achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Lelemana Dance in October 2021 with an auction result of GBP 1,222,750.00 (€ 1,448,628.51).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Harvesters von Irma Stern wurde im Oktober 2021 in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary African Art bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 5.737,50 (€ 6.797,39) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Irma Stern erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Lelemana Dance im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.222.750,00 (€ 1.448.628,51).
