Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Iqbal Hussain could be acquired at Bonhams in London in May last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art auction, the work Untitled (Woman in a burqa) changed hands for GBP 1,275.00 (€ 1,499.92) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Other works by Iqbal Hussain have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in May last year by the work Untitled (Amaltaas in bloom) at GBP 2,550.00 (€ 2,999.83).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Iqbal Hussain konnte im Mai letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art wechselte die Arbeit Untitled (Woman in a burqa) für GBP 1.275,00 (€ 1.499,92) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Andere Arbeiten von Iqbal Hussain wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Mai letzten Jahres die Arbeit Untitled (Amaltaas in bloom) mit GBP 2.550,00 (€ 2.999,83).
