Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2004 Christies in Melbourne held the auction AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS, which included this untitled work by Inge King. The price achieved of AUD 4,780.00 (€ 2,792.80) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Inge King have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Euridice in May 2003 with an auction result of AUD 49,350.00 (€ 27,317.40).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2004 führte Christies in Melbourne die Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Inge King zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 4.780,00 (€ 2.792,80) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Inge King auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Euridice im Mai 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 49.350,00 (€ 27.317,40).
