In February 2013 a collector was able to acquire the work The Rude Parrot by Ignacio de León y Escosura for USD 11,875.00 (€ 9,079.44). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master and 19th Century European Paintings and Drawings, including Property from the Estate of Giancarlo Baroni at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00 set by the auction house.
