Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Youth by Ian Armstrong was auctioned at Christies in Melbourne in November 2001. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of AUD 6,000.00 – 9,000.00, the actual price achieved of AUD 6,462.50 (€ 3,753.56) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ian Armstrong - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Mount Korong, which sold at auction in November 2000 for AUD 16,450.00 (€ 9,956.28).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Youth von Ian Armstrong kam im November 2001 bei Christies in Melbourne zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 6.000,00 – 9.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von AUD 6.462,50 (€ 3.753,56) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Ian Armstrong mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Mount Korong beobachtet, die im November 2000 für AUD 16.450,00 (€ 9.956,28) versteigert wurde.
