In November 2000 Christies in Melbourne held the auction AUSTRALIAN AND INTERNATIONAL PAINTINGS, which included the work Mount Korong by Ian Armstrong. The »bidding war« ended at AUD 16,450.00 (€ 9,956.28), 37% above the upper estimate. With this result, Mount Korong is even the most expensive work of art by Ian Armstrong that we have observed at auctions so far.
