Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Ramayana Story by I Gusti Nyoman Sudara Lempad was sold in the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art – Day Sale auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2017. The price achieved of HKD 37,500.00 (€ 4,127.32) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Admittedly, works by I Gusti Nyoman Sudara Lempad have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Ramayana Story in April 2015 with an auction result of HKD 200,000.00 (€ 23,114.14).

Die Arbeit Ramayana Story von I Gusti Nyoman Sudara Lempad wurde im Oktober 2017 in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art – Day Sale bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 37.500,00 (€ 4.127,32) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von I Gusti Nyoman Sudara Lempad auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Ramayana Story im April 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 200.000,00 (€ 23.114,14).
