Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work VISUAL POETRY by Kwon Hyun-Jin was auctioned at Phillips in Hong Kong in March this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 88,900.00 (€ 10,409.28). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Kwon Hyun-Jin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Visual Poetry Pixel Series #696, which sold at auction in June last year for HKD 277,200.00 (€ 33,733.19).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit VISUAL POETRY von Kwon Hyun-Jin im März diesen Jahres bei Phillips in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 88.900,00 (€ 10.409,28) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Kwon Hyun-Jin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Visual Poetry Pixel Series #696 beobachtet, die im Juni letzten Jahres für HKD 277.200,00 (€ 33.733,19) versteigert wurde.
