Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Codex by Hugo Sartore was auctioned at Christies in New York in October 2006, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,500.00 – 3,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 2,040.00 (€ 1,597.12). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Hugo Sartore - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Composición, which sold at auction in May 2018 for USD 3,750.00 (€ 3,213.37).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Codex von Hugo Sartore im Oktober 2006 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 2.040,00 (€ 1.597,12) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Hugo Sartore mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Composición beobachtet, die im Mai 2018 für USD 3.750,00 (€ 3.213,37) versteigert wurde.
