Hilda Keiller ( [1839-1927], née Falck, married to industrialist and entrepreneur James Keiller [1836-1918], Managing director of Göteborgs Mekaniska Verkstad, founded by his father, Scottish entrepreneur Alexander Keiller); | their son James (Jemmy) Keiller Jr ( [1867-1962] married to Alice Lyon [1869-1968] ); subsequently by descent within the family; Christie's, London, "Scandinavian Pictures, Drawings, Prints and Sculpture", March 29, 1990, lot 213 ; private collection.

The work Coastal scene from Särö, on the west coast of Sweden by Hugo Birger was auctioned at Bukowski in Stockholm in December 2019. The result of SEK 50,000.00 (€ 4,765.30) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of SEK 50,000.00 – 60,000.00. Admittedly, works by Hugo Birger have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work "Badbrygga vid stranden av Engelska kanalen" (Jetty on the beach of the English Channel) in December 2013 with an auction result of SEK 400,000.00 (€ 45,170.19).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit Coastal scene from Särö, on the west coast of Sweden von Hugo Birger kam im Dezember 2019 bei Bukowski in Stockholm zur Auktion. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von SEK 50.000,00 (€ 4.765,30) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von SEK 50.000,00 – 60.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Hugo Birger auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit "Badbrygga vid stranden av Engelska kanalen" (Jetty on the beach of the English Channel) im Dezember 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von SEK 400.000,00 (€ 45.170,19).
