Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Moorish girl by Hubert von Herkomer was sold in the 19TH CENTURY EUROPEAN ART auction at Christies in London in June 2004. The price achieved of GBP 17,925.00 (€ 26,677.77) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Hubert von Herkomer - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Miss Katherine Grant (The Lady in White), which sold at auction in December 2021 for GBP 81,250.00 (€ 96,914.21).

Die Arbeit A Moorish girl von Hubert von Herkomer wurde im Juni 2004 in der Auktion 19TH CENTURY EUROPEAN ART bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 17.925,00 (€ 26.677,77) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Hubert von Herkomer mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Miss Katherine Grant (The Lady in White) beobachtet, die im Dezember 2021 für GBP 81.250,00 (€ 96.914,21) versteigert wurde.
