Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A man in an interior drinking beer; and A peasant in an interior eating mussels by Hubert van Ravesteyn was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2002, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 5,875.00 (€ 9,018.42). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hubert van Ravesteyn achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Wan-Li Bowl With Walnuts, A Façon De Venise Wine Glass, An Ivory-Handled Knife, A Delft Stoneware Jug And A Rose On A Partially Draped Marble Ledge in January 2013 with an auction result of USD 482,500.00 (€ 355,197.29).
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Wan-Li Bowl With Walnuts, A Façon De Venise Wine Glass, An Ivory-Handled Knife, A Delft Stoneware Jug And A Rose On A Partially Draped Marble Ledge im Januar 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 482.500,00 (€ 355.197,29).
