Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Boats on the foreshore at dusk by Hubert Coop was sold in the British and Continental Watercolours including Original auction at Christies in London in July 2004. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 700.00 – 900.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 717.00 (€ 1,083.54) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Hubert Coop - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Southwold harbour, Suffolk, which sold at auction in January 2003 for GBP 2,115.00 (€ 3,239.36).
