Auction result misses estimated price range
In January 2018 a collector was able to acquire the work Fishing By Moonlight by Hubert Anslow Thornley for GBP 250.00 (€ 285.44). This price was achieved in the auction Of Royal and Noble Descent at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hubert Anslow Thornley achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Sunset On The Medway; Moonrise, Gillingham On The Medway in January 2018 with an auction result of GBP 2,750.00 (€ 3,139.89).
