Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Sunrise and Sunset by Huang Yuxing was auctioned at Christies in New York in October this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 22,680.00 (€ 2,742.72). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Huang Yuxing achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Seven Treasure Pines in December 2021 with an auction result of HKD 64,830,000.00 (€ 7,343,352.18).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Sunrise and Sunset von Huang Yuxing im Oktober diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 22.680,00 (€ 2.742,72) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Huang Yuxing erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Seven Treasure Pines im Dezember 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 64.830.000,00 (€ 7.343.352,18).
