A top price for Hua Yuan
This artwork by Hua Yuan achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2016. In the Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy from the Yong Li Studio auction, the work Scholar; Feast sold for HKD 125,000.00 (€ 14,083.12) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 70,000.00. This high result makes Scholar; Feast the most expensive artwork by Hua Yuan that we have observed at auctions so far.
