Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Visiting A Friend With A Qin by Hu Zhang was auctioned at Bonhams in New York in September 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 4,462.50 (€ 3,854.63). Admittedly, works by Hu Zhang have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Bird And Cat in April this year with an auction result of HKD 24,000.00 (€ 24,508.70).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Visiting A Friend With A Qin von Hu Zhang im September 2021 bei Bonhams in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 4.462,50 (€ 3.854,63) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Hu Zhang auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Bird And Cat im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 24.000,00 (€ 24.508,70).
