Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In March 2007 Christies in New York held the auction Japanese and Korean Art, which included the work Matsubaya nai Kisegawa (The courtesan Kisegawa of the Matsubaya), from the series Waka sanjin (The three gods of poetry) by Hosoda Eisho. Here, the upper estimate of USD 3,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 3,360.00 (€ 2,512.34). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hosoda Eisho achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shizutamaya Shitsuka (The Courtesan Shitsuka Of The Shizutama-Ya House) in March 2021 with an auction result of USD 100,000.00 (€ 85,157.11).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im März 2007 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Japanese and Korean Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Matsubaya nai Kisegawa (The courtesan Kisegawa of the Matsubaya), from the series Waka sanjin (The three gods of poetry) von Hosoda Eisho zur Versteigerung kam.
