Auction result well in line with expectations
The work La course des chevaux libres à Rome by Horace Vernet was sold in the Old Master & 19th Century Art auction at Artcurial in March this year. The price achieved of EUR 6,298.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Horace Vernet achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Death Of Prince Poniatowski On October 19Th, 1813 in June 2017 with an auction result of EUR 511,500.00.

Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 6.298,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Horace Vernet erzielen.
