Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of the Général Marquis de Talhouët-Roy by Horace Vernet was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 88,200.00 (€ 82,191.78) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Horace Vernet have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Death Of Prince Poniatowski On October 19Th, 1813 in June 2017 with an auction result of EUR 511,500.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait of the Général Marquis de Talhouët-Roy von Horace Vernet kam im Mai letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 88.200,00 (€ 82.191,78) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Horace Vernet auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Death Of Prince Poniatowski On October 19Th, 1813 im Juni 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 511.500,00.
