This is print was made for publicity related to the exhibition Family of Man presented by The Museum of Modern Art in 1955. Throughout the history of the Museum’s Photography Department, primarily from the 1930s through the 1970s, photographers contributing works to exhibitions would oftentimes provide the Museum with multiple prints of the works selected for exhibition. These additional prints would be used for various exhibition-related affairs, most often for being sent to the press for pub

Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Homer Page could be acquired at Christies in New York in July 2018 for an unexpectedly low price. In the MoMA: Tracing Photography's History auction, the work Two images of smiling man looking up, 1933 changed hands for USD 1,000.00 (€ 854.26) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 4,000.00. Admittedly, works by Homer Page have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 'N. Y.' (Coney Island) in April 2010 with an auction result of USD 7,500.00 (€ 5,638.25).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Homer Page konnte im Juli 2018 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion MoMA: Tracing Photography's History wechselte die Arbeit Two images of smiling man looking up, 1933 für USD 1.000,00 (€ 854,26) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000,00 – 4.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Homer Page auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit 'N. Y.' (Coney Island) im April 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 7.500,00 (€ 5.638,25).
