Auction result misses estimated price range
In July 2018 a collector was able to acquire the work Negroes under Marquee Lights, 1949 by Homer Page for USD 1,250.00 (€ 1,067.83). This price was achieved in the auction MoMA: Tracing Photography's History at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Homer Page have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 'N. Y.' (Coney Island) in April 2010 with an auction result of USD 7,500.00 (€ 5,638.25).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juli 2018 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Negroes under Marquee Lights, 1949 von Homer Page für USD 1.250,00 (€ 1.067,83) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion MoMA: Tracing Photography's History bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Homer Page auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit 'N. Y.' (Coney Island) im April 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 7.500,00 (€ 5.638,25).
