Despite a disappointment, a good price for Holly Roberts
When the work A view of Santa Monica by Holly Roberts was auctioned at Bonhams in Hong Kong in May this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 500.00 – 800.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 38.25 (€ 35.90). Despite this disappointing result, A view of Santa Monica is the most expensive artwork by Holly Roberts that we have observed at auction so far.
