Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Sailing boats at twilight in Jalta, Ukraine by Holger Hvitfeldt Jerichau was sold in the 19th Century European Art & Orientalist Art auction at Christies in London in January 2009. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,875.00 (€ 2,110.62) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Admittedly, works by Holger Hvitfeldt Jerichau have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work View of Pompeii towards Mount Vesuvius with an artist by the easel in the foreground in March this year with an auction result of DKK 65,000.00 (€ 8,722.87).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Sailing boats at twilight in Jalta, Ukraine von Holger Hvitfeldt Jerichau wurde im Januar 2009 in der Auktion 19th Century European Art & Orientalist Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 1.875,00 (€ 2.110,62) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Holger Hvitfeldt Jerichau auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit View of Pompeii towards Mount Vesuvius with an artist by the easel in the foreground im März diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von DKK 65.000,00 (€ 8.722,87).
