The work Football by Hisashi Tenmyouya was worth HKD 2,287,500.00 (€ 188,321.82) to a buyer in May 2008. This price was achieved in the auction Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) at Christies in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 600,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Hisashi Tenmyouya; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Japanese Spirit No. 14 sold at auction in May 2008 with the realized price of HKD 3,127,500.00 (€ 257,476.06).
