However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Hippolyte-Jean Flandrin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Tête d'homme barbu, which sold at auction in March this year for EUR 41,984.00.

Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 15.000,00 (€ 14.201,86) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Hippolyte-Jean Flandrin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Tête d'homme barbu beobachtet, die im März diesen Jahres für EUR 41.984,00 versteigert wurde.
