In November 2008 Sothebys in Paris held the auction La Photographie IV: The Collection of Marie-Thérèse and André Jammes, which included the work Gravures Héliographiques, Sujets Divers, Vers 1840 by Hippolyte Fizeau. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 11,250.00 61% above the upper estimate. This high result makes Gravures Héliographiques, Sujets Divers, Vers 1840 the most expensive artwork by Hippolyte Fizeau that we have observed at auctions so far.
