Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Tourist and Indian Guide at Ruins sight 29 1/2 x 19 1/2 in. framed 38 1/2 x 28 1/2 in. by Hernando Gonzallo Villa was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in November this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 600.00 – 800.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 435.20 (€ 398.97). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hernando Gonzallo Villa achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Olympic Games, Los Angeles, California in April 2012 with an auction result of GBP 5,000.00 (€ 6,132.36).
