In July 2010 Christies in London held the auction Old Masters and 19th Century Art, which included the work The batchelor's home by Hermann Kern. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 3,250.00 (€ 3,907.76), 63% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Hermann Kern - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Lock Maker, which sold at auction in April 2007 for EUR 12,000.00.

Im Juli 2010 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Masters and 19th Century Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The batchelor's home von Hermann Kern zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 3.250,00 (€ 3.907,76) und damit 63% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Hermann Kern mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Lock Maker beobachtet, die im April 2007 für EUR 12.000,00 versteigert wurde.
