Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The Sun Vow by Hermon Atkins MacNeil was auctioned at Christies in New York in May 2000, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 58,750.00 (€ 62,982.42). Other works by Hermon Atkins MacNeil have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in May 2012 by the work The Sun Vow at USD 122,500.00 (€ 99,077.97).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit The Sun Vow von Hermon Atkins MacNeil im Mai 2000 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 58.750,00 (€ 62.982,42) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Hermon Atkins MacNeil wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Mai 2012 die Arbeit The Sun Vow mit USD 122.500,00 (€ 99.077,97).
