In December 2011 Christies in New York held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work View of Prague by Herbert Katzman. The »bidding war« ended at USD 1,125.00 (€ 867.19), 61% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Herbert Katzman have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Girl in a red chair; and a companion painting in September 2008 with an auction result of USD 7,500.00 (€ 5,326.33).

Oberer Schätzpreis um 61 % übertroffen

Im Dezember 2011 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit View of Prague von Herbert Katzman zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 1.125,00 (€ 867,19) und damit 61% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Herbert Katzman auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Girl in a red chair; and a companion painting im September 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 7.500,00 (€ 5.326,33).
