Auction result misses estimated price range
In July 2016 a collector was able to acquire the work A Deep Sea Idyll by Herbert James Draper for GBP 242,500.00 (€ 288,142.46). This price was achieved in the auction Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite and British Impressionist Art at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 250,000.00 – 350,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Herbert James Draper have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Mountain Mists in October 2021 with an auction result of USD 2,010,000.00 (€ 1,739,958.45).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juli 2016 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit A Deep Sea Idyll von Herbert James Draper für GBP 242.500,00 (€ 288.142,46) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite and British Impressionist Art bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 250.000,00 – 350.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Herbert James Draper auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Mountain Mists im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.010.000,00 (€ 1.739.958,45).
