Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Cowboy Coolant by Herb Mignery was auctioned at Bonhams in February this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,785.00 (€ 1,683.64). Other works by Herb Mignery have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in December last year by the work Loose But Not Lost 25 in. high at USD 2,422.50 (€ 2,264.44).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Cowboy Coolant von Herb Mignery im Februar diesen Jahres bei Bonhams versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.785,00 (€ 1.683,64) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Herb Mignery wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Dezember letzten Jahres die Arbeit Loose But Not Lost 25 in. high mit USD 2.422,50 (€ 2.264,44).
