In June 2008 Sothebys in London held the auction Important British Paintings, which included the work The Young Barn Girl by Henry Walton. The result of GBP 4,000.00 (€ 5,056.13) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henry Walton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Young Angler in July 2009 with an auction result of GBP 46,850.00 (€ 53,160.71).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Juni 2008 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Important British Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Young Barn Girl von Henry Walton zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 4.000,00 (€ 5.056,13) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Henry Walton erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Young Angler im Juli 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 46.850,00 (€ 53.160,71).
