Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A break in the clouds by Henry Sykes was sold in the BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES auction at Christies in London in August 2005. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 200.00 – 300.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 204.00 (€ 298.01) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henry Sykes achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Spanish Lady in March 2006 with an auction result of GBP 2,400.00 (€ 3,438.77).

Die Arbeit A break in the clouds von Henry Sykes wurde im August 2005 in der Auktion BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 200,00 – 300,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 204,00 (€ 298,01) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Henry Sykes erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Spanish Lady im März 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.400,00 (€ 3.438,77).
