This artwork by Henry Schouten achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in November 2007. In the Sporting Art, Wildlife & Dogs auction, the work The cock of the roost sold for GBP 4,125.00 (€ 5,776.07) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Henry Schouten; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Gundogs sold at auction in June 2002 with the realized price of GBP 6,462.50 (€ 9,996.02).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Henry Schouten erzielte im November 2007 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Sporting Art, Wildlife & Dogs wurde die Arbeit The cock of the roost für GBP 4.125,00 (€ 5.776,07) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 2.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Henry Schouten; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Gundogs im Juni 2002 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 6.462,50 (€ 9.996,02).
