Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Belgian Donkeys On The Beach by Henry Schouten was sold in the 19th Century European Paintings auction at Sothebys in Amsterdam in October 2008. The price achieved of EUR 3,750.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Henry Schouten - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Gundogs, which sold at auction in June 2002 for GBP 6,462.50 (€ 9,996.02).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Belgian Donkeys On The Beach von Henry Schouten wurde im Oktober 2008 in der Auktion 19th Century European Paintings bei Sothebys in Amsterdam versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 3.750,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Henry Schouten mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Gundogs beobachtet, die im Juni 2002 für GBP 6.462,50 (€ 9.996,02) versteigert wurde.
