Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2006 Christies in London held the auction British and Victorian Pictures, which included the work Place de La Croix de St. Pierre, Rouen, Normandy by Henry Schäfer. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 840.00 (€ 1,226.13) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Henry Schäfer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Luys near Morlaix, Britanny; and Eveux, Normandy in May 2002 with an auction result of GBP 3,760.00 (€ 5,888.21).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2006 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Victorian Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Place de La Croix de St. Pierre, Rouen, Normandy von Henry Schäfer zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 840,00 (€ 1.226,13) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Henry Schäfer auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Luys near Morlaix, Britanny; and Eveux, Normandy im Mai 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.760,00 (€ 5.888,21).
