In July 2006 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Watercolours, which included the work Fishing Boats Running Into The Harbour At Harwich (Illustrated); A Hay Barge And Other Shipping In The Harbour At Harwich; Harwich From Shotley; And Children On The Beach At Harwich by Henry Robertson, A.R.E.. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,320.00 (€ 1,932.33), 65% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Henry Robertson, A.R.E.; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot An Incomplete Album of Watercolours, The Majority Landscape Subjects Including: Harwich; Shades of Evening; Ipswich; River Orwell; Tonbridge; Hastings; Littlehampton And Others, Some Inscribed And One Dated 1894 sold at auction in July 2006 with the realized price of GBP 1,920.00 (€ 2,810.65).
