The work Stealing the letter by Henry Robert Morland was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2000. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 15,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 15,275.00 (€ 24,332.94). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Henry Robert Morland - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Laundry Maidengraved:  Philip Dawe (See. J.C. Smith, British Mezzotinto Portraits, 1884, Vol. I, P. 158, No. 22)., which sold at auction in January 2010 for USD 110,500.00 (€ 79,668.35).

Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen

Die Arbeit Stealing the letter von Henry Robert Morland kam im Dezember 2000 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 15.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 15.275,00 (€ 24.332,94) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Henry Robert Morland mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Laundry Maidengraved:  Philip Dawe (See.
